General Information

This program will be used for all general orders; special orders for specific dates (ie. birthdays, celebrations, graduations, etc.) will be considered private orders. Holiday orders will also be considered private orders. The information below regrading deliveries, minimum dollar amounts and items amounts all apply to private orders. 

Do you have a store front? Currently we do not have a store front. MFB is a mobile bakery service, meaning we will deliver
your order directly to you, whether that is your doorstep or your workplace or even your child's school.

Do you charge for Delivery?

Yes, we do charge a delivery fee for all private orders in the Metro Detroit area. If you live outside of the metro area, please contact us for further details. Orders of $75 or greater will qualify for free delivery.  
We have recently revamped our delivery fee and created a radius system, centralized from our location in North Rosedale Park in Detroit. The radius map is below. I realize it might be difficult to locate your particular location. This is meant to give a general idea and we will be able to find your specific location on the map once we have your information. 
The rates are as follows:  Up to 8 Miles: $6, 9-14 Miles: $8, 15-24 Miles: $10, 25-35 Miles: $12, 35+ Miles: Please contact us.

How do I order? Currently, you need to place your order directly with MFB by either calling us at 248.595.5378 or emailing us at motownfreedombakery@gmail.com. 

Do you require a minimum dollar amount and item amount when ordering? Yes, we do require a minimum for both cases. Our minimum dollar amount for private orders to be delivered is $25. Since we are currently operating as a bake-to-order company, we do ask that you order a minimum of a dozen like items (cupcakes, cookies, brownies, etc.) at the time of your order. For example, if you are ordering cupcakes, we ask you order a dozen cupcakes of the same flavor. The same would apply for other items such as muffins, brownies, cookies and bars. Cakes, sweet breads and pies do not require a minimum order amount. 

Do your baked goods freeze well?
 Yes! Gluten free baked goods, in general, freeze very well. We suggest you individually wrap the items you wish to freeze, then place them in a storage bag or container. When ready to eat, allow to come to room temperature or warm in a microwave or toaster oven. 

Do you take Special Requests?
 Yes, we welcome special requests and will make every attempt to meet your expectations.    That being said, as a bakery committed to using natural and unrefined ingredients, we cannot always re-create "traditional" 
baked goods.
 This is particularly true when it comes to decorating and frosting colors. Also, as an allergen-free bakery, we cannot accommodate our baked goods for "just tree nut or peanut allergies" - which means all our baked goods are free of ALL the top common allergens. We can accommodate  to a certain extent, special requests for additional allergens (eg. coconut, citrus, sunflower, etc.). You need to clearly state these additional allergens when ordering and a special order charge may apply.

Do you cater events such as bridal and baby showers and weddings? Yes! MFB would be honored to provide our sweets    and treats for your special occasion. Due to the nature of these events, we ask that you please contact us well in advance of the event so we can discuss details. For baby and bridal showers, please contact us 2 weeks in advance. For weddings, please contact us at least 2 months in advance. Catering pricing is available. MFB is also available to cater corporate events. 

How far in advance do I need to place my order? As stated above, we are a bake-to-order company. MFB needs at least 72 hours notice of your order. If it is a large order (several items or several dozen of one item, we ask that you please provide us 
with at least a 4 day notice. Large catering orders need at least one week advance notice to provide time to discuss the  details of the order.


What forms of payment do you accept?
 We currently only accept cash or check as payment options. We now also offer credit card payments, but payment must be made in person using our Square reader. An additional charge may apply
